2019 Fantasy Wide Receiver of the Year: Michael Thomas
Was there any question who this award would go to? This was a BIG WIN for me this offseason. I apologize for tooting my own horn, but I was the only analyst I know of who recommended taking Michael Thomas as the first Wide Receiver off the board. You can go back to my August 1st points if you want to read my analysis. His ADP was WR4. Thomas scored just under 100 points more than theย #2ย wide receiver Chris Godwin. He scored more than 100 points more than Julio Jones and DeAndre Hopkins and more than 150 points more than Davante Adams (12 games). He broke the NFL record for catches in a season with 149, and had all those catches with an absurd 80% catch rate. He recorded the most receiving yards in the last 4 years. And he did all of that with Brees missing 5 games. And finally, if you made the fantasy football playoffs, he likely helped you win a title as he scored the most points over weeks 14-16. It truly was an incredible year for the elite wide receiver.
