Team Preview: Cincinnati Bengals
As we continue our series on Team Previews of all 32 Teams, we move to 2020's last-place team from the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals scored the 4th fewest points in 2020 while throwing for the 6th fewest passing yards. They were 24th in rushing yards on their way to a 4-11-1 record. Vegas currently has their Win Total at 6.5 games.
Joe Burrow: Assuming Joe can return to form after tearing his ACL and MCL, he could be a great value in fantasy drafts this season. His 17.4 points per game ranked 17th at the position and that was with only having a 3.2% TD rate, which ranked 33rd. That number should easily come up, and with the addition of number 5 pick Ja’Marr Chase plus a healthy Joe Mixon, look for this offense to take a big leap and Joe Burrow to approach back-end QB1 numbers in 2021.
Joe Mixon: Is this finally the year Mixon turns into the RB1 we have been waiting for? I think so. He is one of the most heavily used backs in the NFL, evident by his 82% of the RB touches and 24.2 touches per game. Both top 5 numbers. Now with Gio Bernard gone, that volume may even go up. Look for Mixon to be a back-end RB1 in 2021.
Bengals Wide Receivers: The number 5 pick out of LSU Ja’Marr Chase is one of the best WR prospects we have seen. Could he be this year’s Justin Jefferson? It’s possible. Is it likely? Probably not. He will be competing with targets from some pretty good pass catchers in Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. As a whole they will be great, but individually I only see 12-14 points per game. I like all of them as high-upside WR3s.
